Exclusive: "I AM QUINN'S FATHER"
TODAY SHOW - EXCLUSIVE, January 21, 2010: NBC's Senior Investigative Correspondent Lisa Myers was the first to report John Edwards' admission, made to the Today Show, that he fathered a child during an extramarital affair while running for president. The story was the result of months of investigative reporting and source development by Myers and producer Michael Austin in North Carolina. There came a time when John Edwards could no longer live a lie and Edwards and his advisors turned to NBC News to tell the truth. This report was followed the very next day by an investigation and first-ever TV report detailing how Edwards' affair and child had been concealed from the voters and the central role of a campaign aide to hide the mistress and baby.
